What is “Fellowship”?
Fellowship goes far beyond the mere commonality of social community. Fellowship is the love and worship filled relationship that believers have with the God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It’s also the relationship believers have with each other as a result.
How Do We Fellowship?
At FBC, we fellowship in several different ways. We call these THE FOUNDATIONS OF FELLOWSHIP.
THE FOUNDATIONS OF FELLOWSHIP
Every Sunday we gather together as the Church to worship the Living God together as His people. We greet one another, we pray for one another, we love one another. In short, we fellowship with one another.
God’s Word is the only true way to know Him. Every Sunday, God’s Word is taught and proclaimed without reservation at FBC, and we learn of Christ. Through hearing His living Word, we are transformed by the Holy Spirit into the image of Christ to the glory of the Father. We become involved in the Triune God’s work and we fellowship with Him.
(1 John 1:1-4)
The Bible tells us that we are given gifts by God for the purpose of building up the church and for serving one another. By doing this, we fellowship with one another in the unity of the Holy Spirit as the Body of Christ.
(1 Peter 4:10-11)
After our time of gathering and fellowship, we scatter back into the community to bring others into fellowship with God through proclaiming the Gospel and living holy lives that glorify God.
